I have a point to make.

Satan is the hebrew word for advocate ( in hebrew it's HaSatan, meaning "the advocate"). It is the Jewish belief, I believe, that accept satan as advocate and not devil-- that God has created satan for the specific purpose and role of advocate to humanity. Satan doesn't cause the evil, but he leads us away from God's word, as god has permitted, so that he might test us. Satan tempts us into wrong, he doesn't cause it. At least this is one point of view, and I think it puts a good spin on the traditional "evil" of Satan. Think of satan as a tool used by God, a mutual partnership if you will. God USES Satan to tempt humanity, and satan has the job of advocate (not torturous devil like christians tell you). I guess it could work.
