Resivoir for ebb and flow

Hello everyone. This is my first time posting on this forum but I've been reading it for a while now, and just want to say thank you for all of the valuable information.

Anyway...

I would like to start an ebb and flow SOG system using a 55 gal plastic drum as a reservoir for two 3x3 trays. Will this work? I wonâ??t be able to rely on gravity to drain the trays though, so I guess I need to pump the water back into the res? Anyone ever done it this way?

cant you just get a ebb flow and drain fitting
they're cheap and work well
