Even saying groups like NORML have the money, it is too risky for TV studios to put those out there. They see it as a liability to ratings, as the majority of viewers are probably families and probably don't want their children watching ads like that.
I thought about that too... but no one ever turned off a show because of a commercial. Also they could start off on a little smaller scale like on basic cable first too try it out. Pro-mj stuff comes out in the media from time to time. I could have sworn I saw a Montel Williams show a while back where he talked about the role medical mj played in helping him fight his illness.

There are lot's of weed references on show's... from "That 70's Show" to "ER"... the networks don't seem to have a problem with these shows.

Maybe I didn't explain what I thought should really been in the ad's. I'm not talking about telling the public that everyone should run out and smoke a joint. Then we'd be sinking to the same level as the people that put out the anti-mj ad's. Instead our commercials should focus on what the anti-mj ad's don't... the facts. The commercial should make clear that no one has died from smoking weed, yet "More than 700,000 Americans were arrested on marijuana charges last year, and more than 5 million Americans have been arrested for marijuana offenses in the past decade.
