QUESTION
This just doesn't make sense to me. You can't watch TV in the US today without seeing an anti-marijuana ad. Most of the ad's are just ridiculous, yet they go unanswered. Why wont organizations like NORML put some of the contribution money towards TV ad's?
I remember before I ever smoked I believed all the negative stuff about weed we were taught in school. Why wouldn't I? We were supposed to be able to trust that what teachers taught us was fact. After the first couple times I tried weed I remember feeling lied to, and wondered what else teachers had lied to me about. I think the average person who has never smoked probably agree's with the anti-marijuana propaganda that's been shoved down their throat because they don't know any better. You can't really blame them, that's all they've been taught.
In America a lot of people seem to be obsessed with celebrities. Hell, I glance at the celeb gossip rags when I'm waiting in line at the grocery store. Why don't we use peoples obsession to our advantage? Why not use celeb's to deliver the message for us in a NORML tv commercial? If nothing else it should at least get the attention of the nonsmokers.BigHomie Reviewed by BigHomie on . QUESTION This just doesn't make sense to me. QUESTION
That's a good thing to bring up.
But I think that anti-drug groups, have the funding and resources to put out such ads.
Even saying groups like NORML have the money, it is too risky for TV studios to put those out there. They see it as a liability to ratings, as the majority of viewers are probably families and probably don't want their children watching ads like that.

QUESTION
If marijuana is the only thing you think you're being lied abuot on tv you're in for a shock.
I think if people realized that ALL of tv is fake then we'd be much better off.
But I do think that most funding goes towards law reform and which means broad advertising isn't need. Instead they spend money at times when changes in laws can be made... just wait till we're voting you'll see more ads for and against it.

Maybe I didn't explain what I thought should really been in the ad's. I'm not talking about telling the public that everyone should run out and smoke a joint. Then we'd be sinking to the same level as the people that put out the anti-mj ad's. Instead our commercials should focus on what the anti-mj ad's don't... the facts. The commercial should make clear that no one has died from smoking weed, yet "More than 700,000 Americans were arrested on marijuana charges last year, and more than 5 million Americans have been arrested for marijuana offenses in the past decade.
