    the mystery behind psychology...

i'm interested in why people pursue a degree in psychology. the mind tells me that it's natural. it's natural for teenagers to be interested in their future. to be interested in the type of person they'll become and in a lot of cases, seeking a pyschological evalution for themselves. it's funny how when we improve slightly at anything, we begin to think we're catching on--it's natural to be persuaded by our own selfishness. and when i say "natural", i really mean easy. i'm always hearing that the harder things to do in life are the right things, no matter how selfish one can make it.

i walked a young man home this evening. during this walk i began to wonder who i was doing this for. whether my general concern was him getting to his destination or me not wanting to see a news report about a child being abducted. it was selfish indeed, but as the walk neared an end, it struck me. the child was home safe. no one could abduct him tonight. i understood what he felt and his appreciation. the actions you take build your character, not the thoughts.

    so i pose this question:

what is your main interest of pyschology and it's area?

I don't really understand your question....or maybe the choice of answers you gave.

I'm looking at going into a career in psychology (as you know....weve had that conversation before), but the area I want to specialize in is educational psychology/child psychology.... I have a love for the subject and I love working with children so I figured it would be the best choice for me.

The type of psychology I like most is cognitive psychology, I like to understand how the brain works, and how the brain effects us, as individuals, in societys.....all of it dude....lol....I just love it.
