Smoke?

Another of my newbish questions...
A lot of times I see pictures of people exhaling and tons of white smoke.

But all the times I've smoked, I've never really seen too much white smoke. Is that because it's bad weed, or am I doing somethin wrong somehow?
I try to hold in each hit as long as possible too, if that means anything.

Or doesn't it really matter? I mean, I've gotten high each time.

maybe you're just not taking as big of hits as they are. or it might be that the smoke gets absorbed in your lungs. don't hold in a hit for more than 6 seconds. after that, its mostly just tar in your lungs and most of the THC is gone by that time.

When you inhale and hold for a long time sometimes your lungs will soak up the visible particles completely. This can happen with grass and tobacco and probably just about anything else you can smoke if you hold it long enough. There's a name for this but I can't think of it right now.

Also, you might just be swallowing it. If you're not doing this already, try opening your nasal passage when you suck down the hit - makes it more like a normal breath so you only take it down as far as your lungs.
