Doesn't have to be dark (100%).

The thing is (the way I see it):

There shouldn't be like where you're germinating because the tap root is, in fact, a root. And roots don't like light... light turns roots into wood. Really.

But once the little tap root comes out, you take it and place it in the soil... what I did was press down a little bit with my thumb... then take a pen and press a little hole. I "practiced" like 30 holes. It's just a small hole. Little. You want the tap root to have something to "hold on to"... and you want the rest of the seed (shell) to point up... so when the tap root growth, and the plant starts to exten, the shell can fall off, and the cotyleons [??????] can have light.

Ok, I probably fucked up in the redactation of that idea... anyways, hope this helps!
