i need help right now

alright well i planted 2 seeds 2 weeks ago and they didnt sprout at all i think they were just dodgy seeds or something. so now ive gotten rid of them and im just about to plant 2 other seeds. i need some advice. how deep should i plant them? (btw im planting them in really little plastic pots) Also how long should they take to actually sprout so i can see them comin out of the soil? the seeds i got are darkish brown and looks like they have little strips, thats good isnt it? please answer ASAP!!!!!:thumbsup: :dance:

EDIT- also does it matter about how old the seeds are?

Don't plant them too deep... like 1/4 of an inch or something.

Can't you use the paper towel germination method?

As to old seeds... they work... sometimes... or all times...

oh lol lasttime i planted them like an inch deep, my bad i would use the paper towel method but i want it all natural lolol

Yeah, try like 1/4 of an inch down... not much. Keep it moist (not Titanic-drowining effects).

Mine sprouted like in 24 hours... all five of them in less than 48 hours... if I'm not mistaken.

Before I did the paper towel thing, I placed them in a cup with water and SuperTHRIVE for 24 hours... they sank to the bottom...

Should take a few days, maybe several days. Keep the dirt wet and keep them in a warm area. Jiffy seed starter pellets work well also.

oh wow crazy i have another good dark seed left, i think i mite do the towel thing with that one. does it need sunlight for it to sprout with this method?

Nah man... no sunlight... or light.

Doesn't have to be dark (100%).

The thing is (the way I see it):

There shouldn't be like where you're germinating because the tap root is, in fact, a root. And roots don't like light... light turns roots into wood. Really.

But once the little tap root comes out, you take it and place it in the soil... what I did was press down a little bit with my thumb... then take a pen and press a little hole. I "practiced" like 30 holes. It's just a small hole. Little. You want the tap root to have something to "hold on to"... and you want the rest of the seed (shell) to point up... so when the tap root growth, and the plant starts to exten, the shell can fall off, and the cotyleons [??????] can have light.

Ok, I probably fucked up in the redactation of that idea... anyways, hope this helps!
