Man, I'm sick of saying this every fucking time. Aluminum foil won't give off those fumes unless you hold a standard Bic flame on it for more than 5 seconds. 2 seconds if you're using a butane torch. Shut the fuck up, I'm sick of correcting all of you. A regular cherry doesn't get hot enough to burn aluminum.

I made my own pipe awhile back, my owns a construction bussiness so I have access to tools and wood. I took a small 2 x 4 then traced a simple spoon shape on it, cut out the spoon wth a jigsaw. Then I took a 1" butterfly dril bit and pressed it into the end of my spoon shape to make the bowl. Then I took a drill it and drilled a hole into the stem of my spoon sothe hole ended just underneath the center of my bowl. Then I a hand nail and nailed it down like 1/2 " into the center of the bowl so the stem hole and the bowl met. I pulled the nail out and I had a perfect 6 inch spoon pipe but all the edges were sharp and boxey from the jigsaw so I got a belt sander and sanded down the stem and the bowl so it was perfectly round. It looked amazing and I carved a pot leaf on the front of the spoon with my brothers wood burning kit and then I painted it white with a clear coat mixed with silver sparkles. It looked like somthing you could buy at the store but it took my like 3 hours to make and took a shitload of power tools.

Materials:
Jigsaw
Cordless Drill (with butterfly bit and reg. drill bit)
Hammer
Nail
Belt Sander (sand paper works but it would take you FOREVER)
Small 2x4
Paint/glitter/ect. for decoration.

This computer cant post pictures but when I go to my moms tonight at 6:30I will try and get a picture up.

P.S. Aluminum pipes suck wether they give off fumes or not, only use tinfoil when your desperate.

Wouldn't it be easier to make a bottle-bong or to just do buckets?

Theres millions of ways to buld make-shirt pipes/bong ect. but making stuff out of bottles and tinfoil isnt something you should hold onto those are what I call disposable pieces. Everyone uses them in tight situations but its not something worth saving.

True, but to make something out of metal or other materials would probably cost the same as the average pipe from a head shop does... the metal pipe I have only cost £7

We are getting way off topic. So this is the last I will write about alum foil in this thread. I'm 27 years old and I've been smoking for 13 or 14 years. In all that time I've only ever heard/read negative things about smoking from alum. I'm not saying that the whole "toxic vapors only if the flame is on the foil for 5 seconds" thing isn't true. I'm just saying that even if that's a fact - that in itself isn't very comforting
