Lifestyle ?????? The man you're talking about wasted more money than most honest hard working folk see in a lifetime, he took decadence to a new level.
He wasn't interested in working together with the likes of you or I, do you think if you had asked him for a job he would just say sure pal here you go now what would you like your salary to be?He was an arrogant musician with a massive ego who was paid to much for too little.Why do so many people not realise the hypocrisy of telling everyone to live a simple life whilst stuffing yourself on room service in a 5 star hotel?

i consider myself one of the most peaceful people in the world - i have never gotten into a fight. i do not judge people, and i do not take things personally.

john lennon was a huge peace promoter - but did he dedicate his entire life to spreading the word to millions of people that turn a deaf ear? no - and i wouldnt either.

hes a human, not a god, we are humans, and i will continue to look up to him. as a figure who did as much as he felt happy doing.

because i dont care about the rest of the ideas, i care that he was peace, and he was happy with himself for being what he was. and thats why i look up to him.

Yeah a genius alright , convincing the dickheads of the world to live without possesions while living the millionaire lifestyle, thats smart.
He didn't seem to be in too much of an hurry to share his wealth, and wouldn't you say driving round in a Roller is just a little ostentacious for a supposed hippy.
When will people realise John Lennon was nothing more than an entertainer and not the second coming of Christ.

what you dont realise is this... a utopian union between all people is impossible in the world as it is and has been for a long time, because there's too many asshole's and people that like it just how it is. the only way the dream will be real is if everyone wishes for it.

I don't see the lyrics of this song being so much about living without possesions as it is about peace. Religion, heaven and hell, possessions, countries, etc. were just obstacles that were in the way of peace. And, as the title of the song suggests, he does realize that this dream is imaginary.

John Lennon did do quite a bit to promote peace in the years just before and after the Beatles break up. He also gave to charity and gave a number of charity concerts. Just because a person beleives in peace and wants to help the poor doesn't mean he should be poor himself.

But you're rigth psychocat, he wasn't the 2nd coming of Christ. He was just a man with an extraordinary talent for writing music that was spreading a message that was consistant with the times.
