The Brookline High School freshmen girls basketball coach, a nationally syndicated wine columnist, was arrested last week after several girls on the team alleged he touched them inappropriately during practice.

Jonathon, 48, of Brookline, was arrested Friday at his Washington Street home and charged with three counts of indecent assault and battery and one count of assault and battery, police said. He was coaching his fifth season at BHS and was suspended with pay, according to Brookline Superintendent Bill Lupini.

Alsop was released on personal recognizance after his arrest on Friday. A pretrial hearing has been set for Feb. 13.
