okay so I'm no economist or anything, but here's the idea I just came up with:

When people smoke a lot of blunts or huge bonghits with their friends, smoking gram after gram, etc, obviously much more than they need, they are buying pot a lot more frequently and thus increase the demand (at least in their particular area, or with their dealer). Thus as demand goes up dealer can increase prices.

My feeling is that if you just smoke bowls, and just enough each time for how high you want to get (instead of going fucking crazy), then this is a more sustainable pot-lifestyle, it's not as reckless, it gives cannibis users a better image in the eyes of others. Also it may keep prices down more in your area, besides conserving one of the world's best natural resources

i agree, though i'm not sure if that will get the prices lower, if dealers start making less money they are not going to sell their weed for cheaper, they will make it more expensive.

I think it's the very small minority of dealers that have a "deficit" of clients.

If you don't want to buy it @ $60... another guy will. Today, or tomorrow at the very most.

I see your idea, but I don't think it translates to real life.

I would have to agree with you there, but that's how somepeople smoke their pot. Some users aren't frequent, and just smoke alot at once; it isn't up to anyone else to say stop. I dunno if the price would go down either, because the price is also based on drug busts, and just the general price increase of everything else; the growers/dealers need more money to live, so the price goes up.

I think that people can do what they want and I dont believe that this world will ever run out of "the world's best natural resources." Why do you say this? Well because look at how long oil's been used for gas and stuff and oil is legal so it's being used in huge ammounts everyday. Marijuana is illegal and anti-drug groups have poisoned some peoples minds to believe that it's bad, so that same person who fills their take with $100 for gas probably doesnt smoke weed. My point? If weed becomes extinct I wont care because when it happens I doubt I'll even be alive lol.

I don't think weed will become extinct. Hydroponic cultivation of it has increased its potency amillionfold and has caused it, through human intervention, to become one of the most hardy and flourishing species of plant in the world.

Still somehow I feel uncomfortable with wasting it, I guess mostly because I don't wanna spend more money than I have to, other people can do what they want to I suppose.

And of course we can run out of the world's natural resources, especially the example you mentioned. The way we are handling oil is horrendous, and causes so much unneccessary conflict and death because we're RUNNING OUT and desperate for more of it from other parts of the world, wherever we can get it.

I wonder whether there could be similar social consequences to not conserving weed, affecting the lives of people who are somehow related to the drug trade. Whatever the effects, I'm sure they're not quite as extreme, but that's still why I'm uneasy with wasting it, because I DON'T KNOW what it does.

The only way that the price of weed will decrease is if the market gets flooded with an assload of good and cheap weed.

You've also got to think about the whole drug war thing. If people keep getting busted, then no one is exactly going to give it away.

Also, hve you ever thought about what would happen if it actually became legal in the states and was sold as any other product? I wonder sometimes if it would actually be cheaper or more expensive.

Probably about the same price as it is now.Except 90% of the money would be fed,state and local taxes.I doubt the growers would be able to make enough to live off it then.But if legal,we could ALL have a plant in our closets.
