    Eerie Story

Weird, not everyone who has manic depression or is mentally ill is an idiot...I mean I've done some stupid shit because of my mental illness, but it is because I have a chemical imbalance. I think you can call someone an idiot who is mentally ill and refuses to take medication but...I guess I'm a little offended. sorry

Presumably you are referring to my post. It was not my intent to imply that folks who really suffer from various forms of mental or emotional illness are idiots. I certainly did not think it was written that way. I was merely trying to dispel the idea that something "mysterious" or "magical" or "spiritual" happened. So please don't be offended by my inability to correctly phrase my ramblings. I am well aware that such chemical imbalances can lead people to do things that seem to defy the bounds of common sense or logic. However, I am also inclined to believe that some people, possibly the one in the original story and certainly quite a few I have met over the years, have not a lick of common sense and are, in simplistic terms, idiots. Many are simply guilty of their own voluntary ignorance as opposed to any legitimate malady.

With some skill and understanding you can create a situation like this from scratch.
It's name is "synchronicity" and it is a phenomena that happens all the time, to everyone. Most people are blind to it.
Tom must of been extremely upset to have caused such a powerful reaction in the physical world.
    Howdy Tetra,

I hear where yer comin from and I understand what yer sayin, but I have to come believe and accept, that none of us are alone on this journey on the Mortal Coil, that we each have our spirit guides, angels and totems. To that end,I tend to believe that Tom was stopped by an angel, assigned to protect him.

    What say you ?

    Have a good one !:stoned:

Sorry Bonsaiguy, I guess I'm a tad sensitive...it comes w/ the territory, but like I said if the dude knew he was mentally ill and didn't take his meds then I definatley would call him an idiot. The story does sound just like that... a story. I guess he could have been in some kind of psychotic break you know?

At the very least, Tom is prone to violent outbursts and is, generally speaking, an idiot.

Don't apologize for speaking your mind. You're certainly entitled. And remember that not taking meds is not necessarily idiotic but rather a part of the disease that often pops up for folks who are not getting the proper counciling or support that should go along with their meds. The meds tend to make some folks think that they are now ok and no longer need the meds which is why it is a bad idea for doctors to pass out anti depressants and such like candy, much like they did back in the 50's and 60's with valium (mothers little helper). The human brain is a complex little ball of goo that we are only now beginning to understand the workings of.
