Flowering + vegging under one light?

Im just wondering what would happen if I decided to flower and veg. under a 600w HPS (red spectrum)? Would I still get bud, but the yield wouldnt be as good? And how much would the final yield be reduced by (percentage)?
Also, will it still take just a few months, or will it take as long as growing outdoors?

Im not talking about any specific strain here, but my next grow would probably be a sativa dominant (75% or more).

You usually need a red spectrum light for veg, and a blue spectrum for flowering. Or its the other way around... I forget. And you have to change the light cycles from 18/6 to 12/12 to induce flowering.
Anyway, Im just wondering - if I veg for however long it takes, then change the light cycle to 12/12 to induce flowering, how much will the yield be reduced by if I was just using a red spectrum light? And would it take longer until it buds for some reason?

That´s bullshit... just use a hps light for both and you´ll be just fine.. In the Veg fase it won´t matter what kind of light you use, it won´t have any effect on your yield. In the flowering fase you´ll need as much light (HPS) as you can get for a big yield.
