I'm all for treating animals kindly. Heck, I'm even a vegetarian. But I cannot stand PETA and their intolerance to anyone who doesn't believe the same thing they do. They support people who use violence to get their point of view across, and that's called terrorism. It's giving us vegetarians a bad name. If you want to shut down the meat and fur industries, fine, go ahead and try to convince other people of that. I don't think it's a realistic goal, but whatever. Just don't support people who burn down animal research labs simply because they're not falling into line with your beliefs. Try to actually convince people with words that fur and meat is wrong. Go ahead; try to convince the Eskimos that they should all give up seal meat and polar bear hides, and see if they starve or freeze first. But it's not okay to blow up their igloos because they have a different diet than you, is it?

I support the NRA!! It blows my mind how people can bitch about cruelty to animals, watch the national geographic channel if you want to talk about cruelty, I watched a program the other day about sea eagles or something like that, they were literally eating a baby seal alive.

I don't believe in the science labs stealing family pets and doing weird tests on them. But I do believe in meat and fur. Come on guys, get back to your roots. Do you think that had our ancestors not hunted and trapped for food that the human civilization would still be around? Personally, I live in the country, and around here if we didn't get out the shotgun every now and again to shoot a damn coyote or even them stupid ass squirrels the animals would take over and we'd be outta a place to live. I personally get some kind of a sick satisfaction from blasting the head off of a raccoon while it's got itself stuck down in my damn garbage can. And I'll tell you what, after I blast that racoon if the old boy down the road wants to offer me 5 bucks for it's pelt it can have it.
It's the same way with deer too, if we didn't shoot em it'd be horrible.
So come on people get real...don't eat meat if you don't want to..but there's no need to freak out about stupid animals getting killed....

I too, live in Iowa, but as opposed to Bobbi Sue here, I disagree with nearly every single thing she uttered out of her slack-jawed yokel country bumpkin mouth. Keep in mind folks, this is the same area of Iowa that has had two psychopaths break into an animal shelter specificly to kill cats and succeeded in about 50 deaths. They were given a minimal fine and thats it. One juror was quoted as saying, "Those guys weren't doing anything really wrong. Who hasn't killed a few cats?"

he difference is, we aren't our ancestors. We don't eat meat out of necessity to make sure we stay alive. Its a little different having to kill an animal to keep your family from going hungry, which is what our ancestors did.
