Yeah we need food but we don't need meat to survive....

and there is the world of difference between wearing animal fur to survive and wearing it for pleasure.

I have written my thoughts about cruelt to animals in a big thread a little while ago there another disturbing video of animals beings skinned was posted.
And my thoughts are still the same.....I would prefere to see a worthless human tortured and killed than a worthless animal.

Some humans would deserve it more than animals.....why don't we just kill them and eat them....after all humans are only animals, we need to eat meat.............

I don't believe in the science labs stealing family pets and doing weird tests on them. But I do believe in meat and fur. Come on guys, get back to your roots. Do you think that had our ancestors not hunted and trapped for food that the human civilization would still be around? Personally, I live in the country, and around here if we didn't get out the shotgun every now and again to shoot a damn coyote or even them stupid ass squirrels the animals would take over and we'd be outta a place to live. I personally get some kind of a sick satisfaction from blasting the head off of a raccoon while it's got itself stuck down in my damn garbage can. And I'll tell you what, after I blast that racoon if the old boy down the road wants to offer me 5 bucks for it's pelt it can have it.
It's the same way with deer too, if we didn't shoot em it'd be horrible.
So come on people get real...don't eat meat if you don't want to..but there's no need to freak out about stupid animals getting killed....

I agree with most of what oneironaut said , except for the quote above . Meat is not wrong , it is a food source for humans and has been since the year dot , humans are carnivores . Its not wrong to eat meat , many animals themselves survive on diets of meat , so I have to disagree with you on that one !

I'm not saying fur and meat are wrong. I have no problem wearing fur myself,and I support other people's right to eat meat. My vegetarianism is more of an aesthetic thing than a moral one. I just don't like the thought of putting dead animals in my mouth. My point was that if somebody does believe that fur and meat are ethically wrong, they should be trying to convince other people with words and not with violence and threats.

If that's what you believe, I don't think PETA is the group for you. It's pretty clear that the PETA leadership is against all killing or testing of animals, not just for doing it in a humane manner. Here's what Ingrid Newkirk has to say about it:
"Even if animal tests produced a cure for AIDS, we'd be against it."
"I wish we all would get up and go into the labs and take the animals out or burn them down."
"Pet ownership is an absolutely abysmal situation brought about by human manipulation."

That's right. If PETA had their way, the vast majority of biomedical research which is leading the way in curing the diseases which afflict us, as well as the meat industry, the fur industry, zoos, and even pet-owners would be stopped by the legislator's pen, the policeman's club and the terrorist's bomb. Is that what you want?
