I was born in Gettysburg and lived there till I was 19. It was a great place to grow up.

I spent a lot of time blazed in the battlefields.

They have been trying for slots there for the past 2 or 3 years.

A few years back Disney wanted to put some kind of park there.

They tore down the Gettysburg National Tower because:
"This is sacred ground," Secretary of the Interior Bruce Babbitt said yesterday. "Americans come here to learn of their past . . . their heritage. It is our obligation . . . to honor this sacred landscape by preserving it."
Within a year of them imploding the Tower a huge outlet mall went up on Baltimore St? Now a casino? I thought the tower was cool... how else are you going to be able to view the battle fields like that other then a hot-air balloon.

I hadn't heard about all the vandalism... what was destroyed?
