Because children should not have unsupervised access to anything. That's what parents do. The internet is especially dangerous for kids with no parents keeping them in line and making sure they know what's what. Children need a degree of supervision and guidance to survive and become healthy, useful adults. By age 14 my kids were allowed to access the net pretty much without anyone looking over thier shoulders. We educated them to the dangers and such and let them loose. With one disclaimer...we trust you but if you give us a reason not to trust you...remember what dad does for a living (IT)...he can and will find out if you are not behaving. They behaved. (at least on my computers they did, what they did at other kids houses I can't say for sure)

All you need to know is to not act like an idiot.
I have never had restricted internet, because my parents trust me, and in turn I have never really been that curious about things that are out there. I know what they are, and I don't need to mess with them.
I smoke weed, but I don't do anything that will really mess me up, I don't even drink anymore, and I do well in school. As long as your parents believe you are responsible the easier it is to be so. You don't feel the need to rebel, because you are respected. Just my two cents (am 14 as well by the way.)

I have to agree 14 is too young to start smoking imo. Although the majority of people started at around that age if not before, it can mess up your developing brain.
On the other hand smoking say once a week is probly the best thing to do if you are going to smoke.

Just don't start smoking everyday untill your a bit older dude.....if you are even going to smoke everyday?....you may not feel the need to.
Smoking everyday is habit forming.

I don't know about fucking up a developing brain...
I tried pot for the first time when I was twelve, but only smoke it like 4 time between then and about two monthes ago. I now smoke it daily, and generally function better than was I did not consistently smoking. And I am more calm in social situations as well.
Although my typing certainly hasn't improved (misspelled like ten words, had to go back and fix them, haha.) Lmfao.

lol no I didnt mean fuck it up....I just fail to see how doing any mind altering drugs while your brain is still developing can't cause some problems.....im not sayingit will cause problems with everyone....but its better to be safe than sorry.

lol hey atleast someones answering the question and not talking about anarcists cookbook or altering your brain why its developing . Im 14 (well in May) and have just start smoking daily or every couple of days. I personally think its about the persons maturaty than there age. If someone immature smokes pot young, thier most likely to turn out as a school janator or something and if a mature smokes pot young and doesnt let it take over their life in anyway their most likely going to go to uni or tafe and get a good job. meh thats my two cents:twocents:

Squash all that 'harming your brain' bullshit from smoking too young, I started blazin at twelve [amongst other substances i'll pay for when i'm older] and it only transcended my mentality, not inhibitit it. I've also conversated with many elderly smokers round my way that have blazed for a lifetime since [some shorty's today also] ten, well one of them who is a retired lawyer.
