If I am using a reverse osmosis was filter this will deplete my calcium and magnesium levels correct? If I am thinking correctly my water needs the calcium and magnesium. What is the most efficient way to add the calcium and magnesium back into the water?

CalMag PLUS works... I don't know if it's the most efficient.

Which would be the better system in your opinion RO or a UV filter? I haven't bought either yet.

To be honest, I haven't read specs for UV filters...
I'm not sure.

I bought a RO+DI (RO+DeIonization) filter off eBay... because that's what I saw in these threads.

Which is better? I really don't know.

If you get a RO filter, I suggest you get the external reservoir option. At least in my place, the water pressure isn't enough... so, filling your rez directly from the filter would take... UFFFF... hours probably. But with the external reservoir, you've got like 1.5 or 2 gallons, ready to be transfered in a couple of minutes.

RO removes all minerals so yes,

Ro units are what you want for your water purity, without a doubt...

and yes, as turtle said...Calmag+...best on the market, Imho...lw

RO and UV are like soap and bleach.

Soap does not clean anything, it simply removes the tensile strength of the water molecule which allows them to penetrate fabrics or hit particles much smaller than they could when they were clinging together. To see this, float a razor blade in a dish of water and add just one drop of dish soap..the blade sinks immediately.

Bleach is simply a disinfectant. Kills germs.

RO like soap, removes particles larger than the water molecule by hyper filtration.

UV simply disinfects then passes the water thru a filter.

RO is far superior for filtration as it lowers the TDS to almost zero.

You can get the RO water tanks as big as you want...I use mine the slow way (even though I bought 8 gallon tank, I never hooked it up) , I just run it overnight into a big rez' and it makes about 18-23 gallons, depending on how long I leave it...Turtle, I think you got the one I bought/maybe showed you...lol.lw

The rez I recieved (advertised as a 5 gallon... really 2 gallons!!!), anyways, the rez has an airbag inside... I think it's pre-pressured at 4.5psi or some thing like that. It's really handy when "the water goes out" in my place... I still have those 2 gallons to drink/work with the girls.

As to the filter, yes, I'm positive it's the same one. I saw yours in one of your super-heavenly-bathroom photos. Hey LW, when can I go clean my hands in your bathroom? (lol)

QUESTION about the filter::: Do you know the valve it has? The only "manual" valve it has?

What the fuck is it for???

I've noticed that in the 1st position, the "exhaust" water flows slowly... with the valve in the 2nd position, it flows much more...

I don't know if it's only the speed of filtrations affected, or the actual "filtration performance".

I've left the valve in the 1st position (slow exhaust flow)... Any ideas?

Oh yeah, that unit works too!!! Don't it??? People saying it doesn't work kills me. Have you tested PPM's after filter, yet...I did, got down to .023ppm:thumbsup:

The valve is to flush unit(did you read directions)...you should have an orange line running from it to the drain...I will have to go look...

That Bathroom catches hell, sink is to the right and back from photos...I do have clean water running out of the tap...lol'fucker, I thought no-one would notice the mess...Man, that is my nute/chemical room...now I am embarrassed...Not!!!

yeah ,the pre-charged bladder tank. that is what i got, but i am saving for 1 that holds at least 20-30- gallons. Drum company's sell 55 gallon water quality drums, new for about 50 bucks...you can run that sucker for 2-3 days at a time, and as long as you have a need for 20-30 or more gallons a week, you won't even have to turn it off. I am fixing to add this above main nute res with super single electric float valve. I can't wait...I need it for my veggies anyway...later.lw:smokin:
