Topping?
If you top it now it will grow two main tops instead of one...so almost double your yield at least 50% more.
HNYkill just topped a strain that didn't react well to it(some don't) but indica's just grow 2 tops.I'm topping every one of my plants this time! For that reason and to clone the cuttings. But all you have to do is pinch the newest top nod off and leave the next 2 branches down to become the new 2 tops!:thumbsup:Any posts made by me are purely fictional in nature and by no means is anything I say to be taken seriously. Topping?
I usually always top or FIM my plants right after the start of the third node to encourage extremely early branching. It works, on all the bagseed grows. I'm not sure what phenotypes [ from indica or sativa ] is causing them to take well to the topping, but what I do know is after topping every growth tip that came, one time each, I managed to have a plant with seven healthy tops ready to be flowered in less than a month and a half.

Could someone edit that pic in paint and show me where I need to top it?

If I'm not mistaken, there. Or the smaller growth that may or may not be coming through inside of that growth shown above the red line. Otherwise, cut at the line.

Topping?
Cheers Kush! Also, Ive got some nutes from the dude nextdoor, should I wait until some new growth has started after topping BEFORE I put the nutes in, or should I just put them in anyway (at half strength?)

Topping?
Hello Swizzy
, "Topping" or "Pinching" will increase the amount of bud.
The amount on each stem will be slightly less than a stem which hasn't been topped but when combined together the stems of a topped plant should be significantly more than an untopped plant. That's what I've found anyway
I copied this off an earlier post of mine ..............................
At the very top of you're plant there is the very freshest new growth just bellow the new growth were it joins the main stem that's were you cut it off.
However make sure that the cut is above the diagonal shoots growing from the node below
With the main stem cut off all additional growing will come from the two shoots bellow the cut, making two main stems to produce buds.
I've grown with and without pinching (topping) and have found that by having two main budding stems that it does increase the yeild quite a bit.
Also I call it pinching because that's how I do it, with my fingernails, but at first I would reccomend using a sharp pair of sisscors.
Whatever you do be carefull not to take any off the diagonal shoots that are going to be the new main stems
love mand xxx

Topping?
So I leave the two newer fan leaves that are coming out? Ive coloured the leaves red that I think I leave, the ones I chop are blue. Maybe this is a better pic to use

That's right. But like Mand pointed out, you want to go for the smallest, youngest node in the center of that blue area. On each side of the chopped shoot, you'll see two more growths. If you're lucky and don't cut too far below that small growth, you might get a FIM (Fuck I Missed), which will actually only stunt that 'topped' shoot, allowing it to grow back later as the other two come in. You know what they say; 'Three heads are better than two.'
