My girlfriend has a puppy that I've been keeping at my house, because she can't have pets in her apartment. The dog has been staying here for a few months now. When it first got here we kept it inside. My mom was saying that it had worms so we had to put it outside. I never saw the worms in her feces or anything at first. Anyhow, we put the dog outside in a fence. She was fine up until the past few days. My cousin, who also stays here, got Rating: 5

The dog was given de-wormer awhile back. Even though when my mom was saying it had worms, I found none in her stool. Yes, I know that just because they weren't visible in her stool, they could have still been there. Worms had nothing to do with it. It was distemper. That is what I was told before the DOG WAS EUTHANIZED. I DID CALL AROUND last night. They WILL NOT take care of the dog free of charge. All they told me they could do is put it to sleep. I was still hoping that it was worms rather than distemper. I wanted to keep trying to feed her and get water in her until I could get her to the vet today. I did not have the fucking money to pay a vet when I found her TWO days ago in pain. I did what I could with no money. Some of you people make me fucking sick. Some of you, I appreciate the input and understanding.

neglect? when i don't have the funds to pay a vet that won't fucking do something about it and let me pay later? when the fucking SPCA won't take the dog without making a reservation? if i knew of someone that would've treated the dog, i'd have damn well done something about it. i didn't have the money until today. from what i've read, you can't cure distemper. all you can do is give supportive treatment. which to me is just as bad as letting her suffer. the damage was done... and no she didn't have her shots. that was not my responsibility, but it should have been done. again, had i the money to get her the shots, i might have done that. but i don't have the cash. the shit had already taken it's toll on her nervous system.. which is irreversable.

Well wa4terb0ng should get credit for making the calls, hey even posting about it. Its not like he purposefully gave her distemper. Some people are really evil like that unfortunately...theres more that could of been done but you did try to help!!

there may have been few other ways to do something better for her. unfortunately, i was very depressed over the shit and have never been in this type of situation.. so i wasn't sure what to do. that's why i came here asking you guys. everyone told me to go to the vet. but i swear i'm serious when i say that i was told over and over that they wouldn't see the dog unless i could pay for it. they wanted to put her to sleep and i was hoping that there was still something i could do about it. so i waited until today to go to the vet. it took me breaking down in front of my mom to get her to loan me the money. she knew the dog was sick and never offered to help either, therefore, being her usual asshole self, i didn't bother asking her for money, as she's too busy throwing it all away on her fucked up gambling problems. either way, you're right, if i didn't give a shit, i wouldn't have came here asking for help. i wouldn't have made the calls. i wouldn't have stayed up with her all night long trying to feed and water her. i did care. i just didn't know what to do.
