    When should I transplant?

I planted some seedlings about a week ago, Could someone tell me when I should transplant and into what sized container? I've read that you should transplant into a 3 gallon container to avoid shock in future transplantings. but in my experience with houseplants, you should move to the next sized pot. What should I do, it is obviously my first grow and I want to do it right. Please help! Any help would be appreciated Thank you. :stoned:

    When should I transplant?

go to a 3 or 5 gallon, to avoid shock use B1 or one of the others. less transplants the better, and it will grow faster.

    When should I transplant?

    i transplant like this:

16oz keg cup to 5 1/2 inch square pot to 1 gal to 3 gal to 5 gal

you just wait until the roots fill the container then transplant to the next size. i use thrive alive red(b1) when i transplant. i know to transplant when i have to water everyday or every other day to keep the plant from wilting.
    good luck!

    When should I transplant?

thanks alot for the kind words. you really don't have to transplant as much as i do. i just try to grow the best possible quality and highest quantity i can. i have noticed a substantial difference since increasing the number of times i transpant.

    When should I transplant?

I would think the less transplants the better. How long do you veg?

There is always shock and retarded growth after a transplant. 5 transplants produces a cumulative 2 week period where the plant isn't developing as fast as it could.

    When should I transplant?

Ok, I have a really stupid question, I mean really dumb, What exactly does everyone mean by veg? Is this before it flowers? Please help and don't judge me. It IS my first time. Thanks a lot.

    When should I transplant?

    veg = vegetative growth

it's the way your plant grows on 24/0 or 18/6 lighting.

i veg for 6-8 weeks. i never notice any slowed growth from repotting. i actually notice a burst of growth the day after i repott. imo more repotting is better. i'm not in a hurry, if i was i wouldn't grow pot! everyone seems to want to grow fast! no matter how you look at the quickest flowering is around 45 days or so, if you have a separate veg chamber as i do then there is more than enough time to vegg while the current crop flowers. my stains are all 60-80 days so i have more than enough veg time.

also, if you are very carefull not to disturb the rootball there will be no transplant shock or retarded growth, at least i have never had that problem. i also use thrive alive red (b1) with transplants

    When should I transplant?

Where can you get thrive alive and do you just sprinkle it in the hole you are transplanting in? Also what about rooting hormone? Oh, is Superthrive the same as thrive alive?
