You will still need oxygen. Not much oxygen in wet sand. You may have luck with peyote but I prefer promix. Try saw dust. Great for the R:S ratio of nitrogen to carbon. Under 20 to 1 promotes good growth.

    Growing with Sand??

Good luck with the sand experiment tell me how it works out. Plants with a high oil content grow best in sand. The olive tree 8000 years ago grew over the sahara dessert. The olive tree has twice the oils and half the water content of most trees due to the fact that it has the most complex calcium ion known to earth in its biochemical makeup. This calcium kills viruses that live off the vitamins found in the oil. Just some random knowledge. I wish you the best with the sand. I love growing sand in the warmer climates just not growing in it. NY love

Well sand is alot of things. ethnogarden in canada has sand seeds from columbia if you would like to grow your own pebblets. There are 20 strains you can extract sand from. 18 are legal to grow in the US.

i hear sand is good to mix in with your organic soil mix, but sand alone, in a hydro setup would be kind of messy
