    Flourescent lighting and lumens question...

A question regardiing those 4-foot flourescent tubes...Manufacturers sell them labeled with stuff like "soft white", "natural daylight", and any other kinds of adjectives. These bulbs are also labeled with the amount of lumens it puts out.

My question: what lightbulbs work best for vegging? Lightbulubs with a higher lumen output?

    Flourescent lighting and lumens question...

Lightbulbs with a higher lumen rating work better, yes. And the best lighting for vegetative growth is one of higher kelvin rating --- as in, if it's daylight spectrum [ 6500k, I presume on those bulbs ], it would be better than say, the color temperature produced by a warm white bulb [ 2700k - 3000k ]. The higher color temperature will promote bushier growth and slow internodal spacing drastically.

    Flourescent lighting and lumens question...

knocks.. get the natural daylight one (if it says FULL SPECTRUM) there are few bulbs out there that say natural daylight without mentioning the FULL SPECTRUM.. the spectrum is MORTALLY IMPORTANT.. u fuck up the spectrum, u fuck up the growth.. kinda lol

the amount of wattage is directly correlated with the light intensity.. you'll also see bulbs that say

    Amount Used: 40w | Same As: 100w

the Amount Used is the important part, the Same As piece completely irrelevent..
