Race is a social construct. There are no fine lines between the races as many people believe. Here in the US most people are of mixed ancestry, mostly European and African, and if we look back at our European and African ancestors, we found that they too interbred for thousands of years, with each other and with Asians. Yet still people insist on categorizing us into "black" and "white".

Look at the photograph below: Colin Powell's skin color is clearly more similar to that of Bush and Rumsfeld than to Rice's. And yet we call him "black", because it is how our culture classifies him.

There is only one race: the human race.
