My two cents here is that depending on your purpose, you might not want to heat it, thus avoiding that decarboxylation. I get some respectable pain relief from THCA, THC-COOH, without getting all head high, which I do not enjoy. Thus, a glycerin (glycerol) soak-n-shake tincture where the herb has not been heated is much more useful for me than one that's been decarbed, because I do not want to get high. I am told by my resident pharmacologist that it nevertheless continues to be helpful as an agonist for my opiates, however, which is a good combo protocol, because I keep my tolerance low on these and also do not take them in doses sufficient to get high.

...Though there was one time, back in the day, that... well, that's another thread. Probably another whole board.
stressmom Reviewed by stressmom on . Does Weed need to be heat activated to be eaten? I've heard that weed needs to be heat activated in one way or another to get a proper high when eaten. I've also heard that it just needs to be absored in a fatty substance such as butter or milk. Would putting normal weed (not cooked, heated, or anything) in my cereal work, since it could be absored by the milk? Or is it best to heat activate it and cook it with butter or something?
