    White widow first grow

Hi, this is my first attempt at a serious grow. I tried when I was in college on my windowsil but it kinda failed, so a couple of weeks ago I invested in a 250w metal halide lamp. They seem to be growing ok, from what I can tell.

However, the plants are starting to show a little yellowing on the leaves. I looked about and diagnosed this my self as a N deficiancy, so a few days ago I added some to the soil. It hasn't made much of a dif. They're not that yellow yet, I would just like to catch the problem early.

Here is some pics of my room and the plants.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Plants look good. Congratulations!

Do you have fresh air going INto them?

Thanks mate, I kinda have fresh air. I open the cupboard a few times aday to check on them. It would be nigh on impossible to construct an air duct to outside, as the cupboard is pretty much directly in the centre of my house. I also have decent fan blowing 24/7. It's definatly made the stems alot stronger

Hmmm.... in the center of your house.... crap....

Try and see what you can do... my plants go "stunted" in growth because I didn't give them fresh air. They didn't wilt and die... or yellow leaves... non of that... but they grew VERY s l o w l y.

    Fresh air is a must.

    So far, so good !

Hello Joe I wouldn't worry about taking them outside they are under the MH and that is the best place for them

As for the fresh air, well you have a fan on them so you're doing you're best and they are looking fine. Maybe the stems look a bit thin but they'll grow thicker and the fan will encourage that.

Just try to let them get on with the growing and keep the updates up

By the way Joe are you planning to flower them under the MH as well ? .................. The MH will flower them as it does produce "red light" but the bud weight wiil be down slightly on using a HPS light.
I wouldn't worry though, it's a first grow and once you have sucsessfully completed it, then you can concentrate on the "fine tunning" for you're future grows

Hmmm I find that very strange , one of the well known effects of using a MH for flowering is looser buds with an overall reduction of around the 10% mark from flowering with an MH in comparision with using an HPS for flowering.
This is something that I have not just read about but I have actually experienced.

Anyway Joe you're the grower love, you listen to the opinions then you make you're own mind up
