You talking about ultra-light tackle, Have you ever used berkely's 1" honey worms? I was fishing with my son last summer I used honey worms (a plastic bait), And my son was using night crawlers. I caught 3 to his 1, He said to hell with these crawlers and put on honey worms. You should try them, I have never seen a plastic bait catch fish like these. I got mine at walmart, jar of 50 for $2.95. They come in natural, red and chartreuse, I have only used the natural so far.

Got several jars stocked up for this summer.
