canada to legalize marijuana in all forms
IT ISN'T LEGAL HERE, TRUST ME I'M CANADIAN!
There are four political parties that make up our government, The Conservatives (like american republicans), the Liberals (like american democrates, they are semi-weed-friendly), the Bloc Quebecois (seperatist frenchies in Quebec) and the NDP (even more left leaning than liberals, they're damn near communist, think Ralph Nader american friends).
The Conservative recently won a federal election so weed definitly won't be legal untill at least the next election. If the Liberals were to regain power they might decriminilize weed meaning you wouldn't receive a criminal record if you got busted you'd just get a ticket that would be no worse than a parking ticket. If the NDP by some miracle got in power they might all out legalize weed, so you could by it at shops or cafes. The thing is, the NDP have minimal support and it is unlikely that they will ever gain control of the government. British Columbians tend to vote all over the place, the NDP don't have control over their provincal government but they have some healthy support there.
Here is a Breakdown of the approximate percentages of power each party has right now:
Conservatives- 40%
Liberals- 35%
Bloc Quebecois- 10-15%
NDP- 10-15%
The Liberals held power throughout the 90s untill about a month ago when a corruption scandel hurt their image and lost them the election. Under Stephen Harper's Conservative party we will start building our military, maybe semi-privatize health-care, maybe outlaw abortion and gay marrige, and give tax cuts to big corparations. The Conservatives tend to represent the province of Alberta (cowboy oil drillers), The Liberals, Ontario (Yuppy coffee drinking hockey lovers), The Bloc, Quebec (conquered whining frenchies) and the NDP represents Unions, pot smokers, enviromentalists and communists (they're kinda spread out across the country)
There's also the green party but a vote for the green party is a vote wastedkevy cola2 Reviewed by kevy cola2 on . canada to legalize marijuana in all forms BC NDP passes legalization resolution Monday, February 20, 2006 I am very happy to report that on Sunday, Feb 19, the Provincial Council of the BC NDP passed the "marijuana resolution" which I had tried unsuccessfully to get debated and passed at the BC NDP Convention last year. This means that the official policy of the BC NDP is now that the party supports a legalized marijuana regime, including regulated access to marijuana, no penalties for personal cultivation and use, and amnesty for Rating: 5Chef It Up! :smokin:
