canada to legalize marijuana in all forms

Sounds good but for us iggarunt murricans, wtf is the BC NDP? Natl Democratic Party in BC? Are they in a position to pass legislature? Can they condradict the federal law (if thats the right term) on this?

I mean is this more than just some local group adopting a resolution like making all nuclear weapons illegal which really has no relevance other than to state a position?

NDP stands for "New Democratic Party". they are in possition to pass laws for our province, and that in itself will change a lot of the national mindset and significantly reduce prosecution in BC. Not to mention it'll give supporters more confidence that it is possible to win this battle.

I think you guys are celebrating too soon. BC NDP is not the ruling party of canada. The Conservitives are the ruling party of Canada at the moment with 124 seats followed closely in seats by the Liberals with 103 then the Bloc Quebecois with 51 and then the NDP with 29, they really dont hold enough power to legalize weed.

lol...yeah, my stepbrother is not allowed to enter the US (he's Canadian) due to old pot charges! Wonder if he'll be cleared, then. I bet the border patrol will be much tighter tho', which means longer delays to get through....which sucks!! A friend's brother also lives there and she gets it from him. Becoming Canadian is difficult! My dad did it when he married my stepmom.....took forever for them both to get dual citizenships. One's a "resident alien" and one's considered a "landed immigrant"......lol..

You guys keep using the federal and provinal NDP interchangably. they're 2 DIFFERENT PARTY'S, and the one talked about here is NOT the federal one (which also wants to legalize weed).

Is marijuana REALLY going to be legal in canada??/ It sounds way too good to be true.... but if so, next time i get caught and my dad uses the exucse "i dont want an illegal substance in my house" i will show him that article....

So what is pot legal in BC right now or something?

Well I really hope that Canada does legalize it, because then the US will have no choice but to follow, at least in the relatively near future.

I'm negative about it because half the people in this thread don't have the common sense to realize if pot was about to be legalized in Canada it would be on every major news station in America.
