I am a serious newbie, I don't know the strain, it is homegrown from my brother in law. I just learned to put the lights close to the plants, the last plants I tried to grow had long spindly stems, these are short and thick! I'm using a cfl only 23 watts though, it said an output of 100 watts which someone told me was good, Then I'm gonna get a 40w cfl. I'm only growing a few plants. I have 10 that have germinated, I started out with 13 seeds so... Also I am using soil. I'm just learning as I go !! Wish me luck.

DaleBlaze, you kind of look like my ex, I think he owns a gun too. BE CAREFUL with that. (my mom always says that to me) haha

Hi Its good that you are growing. You could really do with upping your lighting it should be at least 20 watts per square foot so if your space is 3' by 3' that would mean 180 watts.

Thanks, yeah my space is probably like 3 by 3, but I only plan on having a few plants. I couldn't fit too many right? Sorry if thats a stupid question. I guess I need another fixture, for the lightbulbs. What could I use that was cheap? currently I have a like a silver clamp on lamp, it was pretty inexpensive. I don't know what it's called, I asked my husband, but he's pretty grumpy. He wants to smoke it, but gives me a hard time, when I want to buy something for it. Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh ! Sorry just trying to get out the frustration. He's been a pot head a lot longer than me, but he expects me to do the research, to grow it, etc.

I guess you could grow about 4-6 or so plants in there. You can get 3 foot florescent tubes where I live that are 30w. I had a bank of three of them for a grow they were quite cheep as well. You could look on ebay for some cheap HPS lamps as well you might get one for say £45. You need a bit of ventilation too. Maybee get a Desk fan in there or use the little pc fans you can get. Reckon the thing to think about is invest a bit of money on noy and buy an ounce or put it in to your grow and get a pound.:rasta:

Thanks for the advice. I do have a fan in there. My original batch had long stringy stems, cause I had the lights too far away from them, this time I put them close and the stems are nice and thick. I'll have to look around for a light fixture...
