fan help ASAP
i have been using a 4 1/2" 12 volt computer fan and i was told that it is not good enough for my growbox which is 4'x2'x2'.today at HD i found a in-duct fan that is 6".it is 250cfm.do yall think i should get that.would it be too powerful or too loud because my growing has to be super stealth.thanks a lot

well how loud do you think it will be????? because its in the attic above my moms room. i have it in the attic on three sheets of wood rested on 2x4's then like 20" fiberglass then sheetrock and her fan is always on in her roomso i dont think shecan hear it but if someone went in the attic they would automatically look at something that sonds like zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzz so hahahah what should i do

Those fans are extremely quiet!! Trust me i use 2 of them 6" 250 cfm fans one for outside air in and one for exhaust out. I keep my 4'x4'x4' box with a 400 hps at 78F with those 2 fans and use a pc fan for a extra kick inside the box! You should be fine with that fan unless your mom has hearing like a cat!!

Those fans are not truely 200cfm. I don't know how they get away with that, but if you buy a expensive in-line centrifigual fan, you see what I mean. Those HD fans are as quiet as it gets though.

Alright everyone i have some awesome news:I went and got the fan,took my old one off and installed the duct fan.....it works like a champ. Also i have sealed off my box better now there is only a tiny amount of light which i am going to seal later on today.
