I have the same problem. I am in my 50's and it isnt easier now. Here's my advice:

    1. dont listen to anyone's advice - hunger, bodywt these vary hugely from person to person and you are just going to have to experiment until you find what works for you.

    2. It's just a matter of self control. Bullshit!! When your brain decides that your body is starving you are going to eat want to or not. The reflexes in your brain have evolved over millions of years and are hard wired to keep you alive and well stocked for emergencies regardless of the current fashions in body styles. Some people just dont have urgent appetites and they act smug about it - hey dude its just a matter of control - dont be a pig!

    3. The main appetite trigger is a sudden drop in blood sugar. When that happens your inner reptile takes over and its going to eat. You have to stabilize your blood sugar to have any hope of controling your appetite. I do the following:

    A. Eat a high fat , very very low carb diet. Fats in your diet will help stabilize your blood sugar. Carbs especially simple carbs like sugar and white bread can cause rapid swings in blood sugar and actually make you hungry. Try the Atkins diet for a week its easy to stay on and hunger becomes very controllable.

    B. Exercise is great help in stabilizing your bs too. And beneficial in all sorts of ways. I smoke and THEN exercise - it can feel wonderful - working your muscles can be really enjoyable when stoned. Try it you might like it

    C. Drugs. I havent tried adderal (sp?) I will look into it. But all the diet drugs I have tried lost effectiveness over time and the rebound when stopped was very hard to control - eating binges. Most diet pills are not that good for you either.

Doing A & B I lost 50 lbs - I am about 10# over now which is just fine for an old man. I exercise regularly and love it. Try things until they work for you - be patient - you are in this for the long haul - life is a marathon not a sprint. Dont blame yourself for being overweight. Nature is smarter than fashions. Do what you can, dont be discouraged and dont be dismayed if you are stuck with a slightly chunky body. Be a friend to yourself
Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom: It is the argument of tyrants - It is the creed of slaves

I just smoke a ciggaret after I smoke. I get the cool buzz on top of the weed and I don't feel like eating. Don't know how much help that is though since your trying to lead a healthy life.

One thing that works for me that my roommate taught me was chewing gum. Get a good/yummy sugar free gum and chew away. I have learned that it controls my munchies almost everytime!!
Another thing that worked was blowpops. I know these are nothing but sugar so I am not sure if you want to use these to cure your munchies since you are trying to lose weight and all but they work good too since you are kinda eating something and then afterwards you have the gum to chew on. Plus as long as you don't bite it the blowpop will last a while which will most likely get you through you munchie phase (depending on how long your munchie phase lasts)

    I hoped I helped!!

lots of bread! it isnt that unhealthy and fills you up fast, put a little peanut butter on it to make it even better. you could buy healthy bread instead and low-calorie peanut-butter, it wouldnt make much difference if ure high. i find that when i havent been high for a while i dont really get hungry, its worrying because before i started smoking i felt a little hungry all the time but i guess it balances things out. And also try to time getting the munchies with eating a normal meal.

I usually eat well during the week cuz i dont smoke and it works but on the weekends i always get the munchies cuz the weekend is for smoking.

But anyway heres my question; does anybody have a way that they defeat the munchies and not eat? at least not alot? They have been killing my hard

work during the week and i just cant find a way to beat em and its getting discouraging. Hard candy i thought was good but its not that good.

    Any help would be appreciated
    peace
might i suggest carrots (uncooked, or celery if you prefer) dipped in peanut butter, parents give it to their kids alot, it's good for alot of reasons...

keeps you chewing longer, as opposed to most sweets since they basicly "melt" in your mouth, so your brain can have t ime to register being full.
it's a vegetable, vegetables are good for you, this particular one good for the eyes too.
quick and easy, don't have to spend time washing dishes, no cooking none of that.
relatively cheap... if you measure the food lb. - lb. you'd be getting more this way, then most handy microwave snacks and stuff, so doesn't eat a whole in your pocket. also, i'm pretty sure the carots/celery are a bit harder to digest (atleast compared to like a burrito or some shit) so you'll stay "satisfied" for longer..
yup go with celery sticks/carrots & peanut butter.

oh yea, and hard candy is for smokers trying to quit... also... depending on if you just have the munchies or even hungry... than "i just came home from work move the fuck outta my way i'm eating the fridge too back the fuck off" kinda hungry... if you just have hunger/munchies.. you could speed-drink alot of water... not exactly the best feeling.. but i'm sure as fuck not thinking about food when i feel like a water balloon.

are you retarded? weightlifters eat alot of bread and peanut butter to bulk up. a slice of white bread has more carbs in it then i eat in 1 day.

listen dude, if your like me then your munchies last your entire high, they control your high, and it makes you repulsed by the thought of eating anything healthy.

try to smoke with friends, somewhere besides your house so youll be distracted and away from food. also try hard candies, and that ciggarette thing might work.. never tried it but it sounds reasonable. but lastly, you can try adderoll, but i personally think it ruins the high.

and i cant beleive that no one has suggested this yet... just throw up  haha ok joking, but i have eaten myself sick and felt alot better after throwing some of it back up. i have no control when i get the munchies and i cant stop.

As a snack, I like Slim-Fast Optima bars - 120 calories. The peanut butter crunch variety is very good. I try to limit myself to just one a day, since they have 2 g of saturated fat per bar, which is 10% Daily Value.

They also have other products, like Meal Replacements.
