Whats the reasoning behind no edit after 5mins...
The administrator has specified that you can only edit messages for 5 minutes after you have posted. This limit has expired, so you must contact the administrator to make alterations on your message.SmurfyBH Reviewed by SmurfyBH on . Whats the reasoning behind no edit after 5mins... Why is this? I feel like I have no control over what I say like this, I can't make edits of typos I may have made and not noticed, etc. Rating: 5

Why don't you use that button? Did you see an error two days later? Bad luck. I think it's a good idea. I found it disconcerning over @ OverGrow when people edited their posts days later...
I vote to keep the 5 minute limit.

Then why have 5 minutes? I can only speak of my experience.
Two or three times, I've posted pictures, only to find out that my hand is showing, or maybe my distorted face is seen in the Mylar... then, those 5 minutes are a god-send... just edit, remove pictures, and save.
Edit pictures, and if you have time, re-edit... if edit is not possible, then new post.
As to having more than 5 minutes, I think that could be hell for the fast-pace of the lounge.
Those are my :twocents:

Oh sure. Five minutes is great for those of us that type fast, are fluent in how the forums work, and have broadband. Like you said though, there are times when it is critical to be able to edit and it shouldn't be just those people who benefit. Ever tried to edit and gotten sever busy screens for more than 5 minutes? I have!
On a site like this where security and safety are involved I think its okay to make a few allowances... aside from the fact that it really just isn't that big of a deal

i think the point is if people go round editing their posts because theyve pissed someone off or theyve upset the mods or whatever, then all the threads become insanely confusing because people are replying to posts that dont exist anymore.
