You shouldn't be, black and brown bears are just as likely to go off on you as a grizzly and in some cases, even more so. Always good to give them a wide berth and keep some firecrackers hancy to scare them off. Failing that, if you hike a lot in bear country, carry some pepper spray or a sidearm of large caliber...just in case the pepper spray just pisses them off.
