I once setup a medical grow for a family member using a 250watt HPS.
2 75watt fluro tubes and a single 60 watt fluro tube were used for veg AND flower as well. (They just moved the fluros around during flower to hit dark spots of the plant) Branches were spread during growth (LST) using simple wire with hooks. Organic soil and general ferts were used.


Bagseed was used and the final yield was around 3 1/2 ounces from a single plant.

250 watters IMHO are great for small personal grows. Less heat to manage with and the yields can still be good if you have a half decent setup. If you're looking to yield around 2-4 ounces.....a 250watt is good, anything more and you might as well buy a 400 watt I'd imagine.

Mix in some fluros for better results with a 250 watt HPS.

And to think....I don't grow.

I am running one 1000w hps for 12 plants in the flower stage. I am getting about 30 grams average per plant. Have some BlueBerry flowering now,,,, looks like I'll get lots more weight off them. Fingers are crussed.

690 Watts Flor & CFL's. Vegged for approx 4 months
Plant is 48" tall by 36" by 32"

6 tops (with 2 more on the way it seems), all budding starts at about 18" down each Cola with off sprouts of 7-12" all budding as well

Alaskan Fish Emulsion every other day at twice recommended amount (worked up to that) in 32 ounces of water.

5 Gallon pot & soil

C02 being supplied by organic apples outside the pot, and mix bone meal for extra phosphates every 10 days or so since flowering started. All organic plant, never any chems.

12-13 hours dark per day.

Lights about 2 inches from tops and there are 2 48" flo lights with 2 bulbs each on each side of the plant.

1/2 to 1 gram per watt still a good assumption here? Or will mine be lower because of all organics?
