Just make sure to smoke in a safe environment your first time and somewhere where you won't get stressed out very easily. Don't have any pics to help you out with, but as a generalization, schwagg is usually very condense (brick weed most of the time, compressed to ship) Schwagg is green and on occasion brown, has bigs stems in it and quite a few seeds. Dank is usually pretty fluffy, kiffed out (you should be able to see crystals on the actual bud) rarely has any seeds (I've gotten maybe 4 or 5 seeds out of dank in my life), smokes a lot better, and there are usually small hairs in the bud. Hope that helps you out a bit, and here's what everything should way out to be:

1/16= 1.75 grams
1/8 = 3.5 grams
1/4 = 7 grams
1/2 = 14 grams
1 ounce = 28 grams.

Without ever smoking just be careful your buddy isn't ripping you off. If he only brings back a tiny bit from your 100 bucks then you got some ass to kick. Even a 1/4 of the finest herb you can get lasts me a week being stoned pretty much 24/7... so make sure he isn't shorting you. If he has a scale i'd ask him if he'll weigh it out for you.
