    Apical Dominance and Ethylene

    Apical Dominance

In horticulture, we study and practice the use of apical dominance removal to growing fuller plants. I have done this many times with all types of plants. I was wondering if anyone has tried this? As a cupboard grower, once my plants reach 2/3rd ht of the cupboard, I will prune the top of the main stem to remove apical dominance from top of the main stem. This should allow the auxins produced by the plant to grow more brances, hence making the plant fuller. I shall be posting my results to this test in a few weeks or so.

    Ethylene

In the agriculture industry, ethylene gas is widely used to help speed up the flowering process in plants. Has anyone tried this?

    Thanks for reading my thread,

yes, this is a very useful tool for many resons. i will "top" my plants many times, for increced yeild, less visibility, and indoor for maxium usage of the light. sometimes i will even just tie the main branches down to steaks or a lower part of the stem.both work well and are widley used.
