I always hear people talk about psychedelic drugs like acid, shrooms, dmt etc. having mind expanind qualities. What does this mean

Basically it's like looking at the world through a new set of eyes, a different perpective. And it's like this new perspective allows for the blinds of reality to be opened, if only for a bit. I dunno if that makes any sense I'm pretty high and about to go to bed, but what I think I'm trying to say is that the psychodelic trips allow for a new perspective to espace the mundaneness of everyday life, and hopefully (and usually) this new perspective of things gives you a better (if only different) persective of life and a new found knowledge. Jesus I don't know if that makes any sense or not...

"Mind Expansion" doens't come with any trip... it depends on your mindset.

It happens to me all the time. I'll be at school just finished smoking and I'll come in and see people talking and everything I think about seems different. I stepped back and looked at my life too. You'll know it when it happens.

It's like it unlocks a block in your mind allowing you to take in more of reality in a different way and will usually be acompanied by a sort of realization. It depends a lot on the midset you have going into the trip however.

every time i smoke ill have mind expansion, but when i did acid i had a completely different change in my life.

as far as my latest realization:

i will no longer watch television or movies - because it is truely those 2 things that control society.

an example of this - imagine if you have never seen a scary movie - you would be fearless.

the only thing i'll watch is the national geographic channel

Scary movies aren't even scary anymore... I still see everyone freaking out when they watch it though. I guess that's the conditioning taking it's effect.

exploring your mind man, thats what it's all about right? you don't even need psychedelic drugs to do it, they just enhance it

Exploring your mind could also mean exploring the world around you as it's all in your head anyway... do something you've never tried before especailly if it's something you've WANTED TO DO for a long time. Or try talking to your friends and/or family and try to understand where they are coming from... put yourself in THEIR shoes... that's mind expansion. You can also try meditation but you've got to be able go all the way and dedicate yourself for that.

that example is not true at all, find me a person who has never seen a scary movie and then tell them to go overseas and fight in fallujah or baghdad... then ask them if they were fearless throughout the whole thing
