prohibition didnt work then, and it doesnt work now
because:
1. we're peaceful people and we just like to mellow out, in the 20s the mafia killed people over moonshine we're not like that
2. we are stoned
3. since the government has gotten dumber since the 20s(probably because they stopped smoking) they won't legalize it even if we riot and crap
they are also dumb because by not legalizing it they are creating more problems from a good thing such as:
1. they could tax it and make a tidy profit
2. it would take power and money away from gangs
3. it would remove marijuana from drug culture(in holland illicit drug use dropped after legalization)
4. you wouldn't have you wouldn't have people that are growing for personal use in jail because they are in no way hurting anyone(they are not giving gangs money and encouraging violence)
i don't remember who said this but:
"i went to a meeting of people whos lives have been ruined by pot the place was empty. then i went to a meeting of people whos lives had been ruined by pot LAWS and the place was packed!"
5. it would encourage tourisim to the country if they were one of only a few places were it is legal. and make a nice profit that can go to america's crippled health care system! how many people want to go to Holland for pot?!
6. instead of having drunk teens running in the streets breaking windows, mugging people and such we would have a bunch of stoned teens eating munchies goin' "woAH Duuuude...."
7. revenue from chocalate would soar! LOL
8. the government might gain some respect from the lower-middle class because naturally the revenue from pot would fix the health care system and fund support groups for alcohol, coke, meth ect
9.the iraq war would end cos the Americans would share joints with the iraqies and they would mellow out and stop fighting! (ok thats a bit far fetched but it MIGHT happen...)
10. the ONLY negitive or possably dangerous effects of marijuana is the smoke and the high. the smoke damages lungs BUT if it was legal vaporizers would be legal and everybody could smoke without fear of killing their lungs. the high is only hazardous because if you drive while stoned your reaction time and coordanation will be off but if we look at driving drunk that kills thousands of people and -most-, not all, people that crash while high are under the influence of alcohol as well. they amplfy the effects of each other to make you really un-co. But since alcohol is legal and is worse its no exuse not to legalize it
dont flame me on the last one. anyways look at some of the extreme propoganda used to out law coke, they said it made black people as strong as 5 policemen and made them ipervious to bullets. what about when they out lawed pot "a man kill his family with an axe under the influence of the drug." basicly NEVER belive anything the government says, they have more shit in them than the sewers.

prohibition didnt work then, and it doesnt work now
1 make it peaceful protest, and organized over the internet so as to affect all 50 states.
2. we can do that stoned.
3. let's all grow and get our friends to grow, èn protest, and then just simply stop using paper money, and make the pot leaf the universal $1. and the bud the universal $10.
seriously, if we get organized, and get more people supporting this, which CAN be done if we put more voulentary effort into it!
one thing is clear, we are going to be ignored by uptight government righteous bastards, because all they understand is selfish profit. frankly i beleive they are just as bad as hitler saw the jews, worse in my opinion, but i aint hitler, so im not gonna say mass genoside on drug war advocates.... although the idea does strike me as justice...
seriously, if we get organized, and get more people supporting this, which CAN be done if we put more voulentary effort into it!
seriously, if we get organized, and get more people supporting this, which CAN be done if we put more voulentary effort into it!
dont make me say it again! GET OUT THERE AND CHANGE SOME MINDS
i dont know HOW anyone can stand society as it is, i dont know how you can sit there and just let everything rot away and become worse and worse for each following generation.

I have a feeling that if the gov't legalized marijuana, we'd still be dealin to each other to get away from the crazy prices their demanding and the low quality bud they are offering. Who DOESN'T think they would be happy enough to supply the shittiest green they could, charge crazy amounts, and sit back sayin' "so what, at least we legalized it"
the war on drugs, even drugs safer than the one's already legalized, is a very complex battle it seemsfar from the best
but they might suit you better than the rest

Yeah, if pot was legal that'd be awesome!!!!111
Shut up, we already have an obesity problem in the US all we need is to give the fat people munchies all the time...RIIIIGHT.....also all that needs to happen is for uncontrolled research to take place then when they find out how good cannabis is for the body it will be legalized to an extent.

Gv2.0, you DO realize that there is an amino acid in marijuana that is SLIMMING, dont you? marijuana will cure obesity.
here's an article a friend composed in reply to a PM i sent her:
In the 1968 election George McGovern challenged then President Richard Milhouse Nixon, in the Presidential election. Nixon was a typical republican, and in some ways the first in a line of a new kind of republican. The same type we still have today, who give lip service to the morality issues while committing atrocities in the name of law and order.
Nixon made his appeal to a large group he first refered to as the silent majority. Later they have been called the moral majority, and this same voting block is now called the religious right, having been manipulated to that point, by people like Nixon telling them they had a voice and then telling them what they wanted to say with that voice.
Nixon told them that they were uncomfortable with what they had seen on TV. They were still uncomfortable with the hippy lifestyle, Marajuana, Pre-Marital sex, and the moral decline of America.
This was also the beginining of a very interesting media plot, "by the republicans." The media has always been owned by the rich republicans. Rich republicans think the disagreement over morals between the Elderly southern christians, and the Liberal teens of the day is very funny, since they have no morals themselves at all, and the Christians and the hippies both have a lot of conflicting morals. They made sure that this conflict was brought to a head. This begun with slanting the news to cover hippies in a way that made them appear crazy. Then it gradually made it's way into TV shows which were actually done by extreme liberals, which they willingly employed, and still employ. They allow the extreme liberals compete artistic freedom, in most cases, only censuring them if they start to make sense. For this they are dubbed the liberal media, even though their owners are completely republican and therefore conservative. These liberal shows terrified the mainstream people, and the people are still terrified. They are one of the best weapons in the Republican arsenel, and they polarize society, and demonize the liberal people, and their ideals.
The democrats were very liberal because of the iron fisted p0litical extremism they had suddenly been exposed to on one hand. and the hippy movement on the other.
McGovern being from a more liberal part of the country believed the country was ready for the legalization of Marijuana. He made it part of his campaign. He is guilty of prematurely politicizing the issue of marijuana, and turning it into a campaign issue. Making any controversial issue a political issue during a presidential campaign, tends to kill it, especially if you loose the election.
The republicans, seeing this begun to demonize Marijuana in the media. I remember about that time, articles were published stating that Marajuana was harmful in all sorts of ways, especially to males, because it made them severely less masculine. They litterally hit guys where it hurt. Claiming that Marijuana causes sterility, and kills testosterone. They also said men would grow breasts if they smoked it.
Well the hippies laughed, but their parents worried, especially southern, mid-western, and other rural americans. Anyway Marijuana was demonized along with other drugs to the point several parents actually murdered their own children, citing that they had changed into monsters. A good example of this is a book called "This stranger my son," This was a true story about a father who shot his son, and got away with it. I read it, and it is totally fabricated BS, steming from the father's being brainwashed by media, and the normal teenaged rebellion cycle he chose not to deal with. This propaganda was effective to the point of being lethal.
At the time of the Election the point was made lound and clear. In 1968, grandma and grandpa were not ready to accept legalized marajuana. Having been lied to by all forms of media, which at that time were trusted as gospel, they opted for the safty of the status quo. McGovern not only lost the election, which would have completely changed history, if he had won, and sent the country in a totally new direction, never having experienced the watergate investigation, or the disolusionment that followed, he also insured that Marajuana would never be leagalized in this country, because of the political hot potato it became. From then on to advocate legalization of Marajuana was political suicide.
Today the same thing is happening with gay rights, but the gays being more outspoken than the hippies are shoving themselves down Democrat throats, and hanging around their necks like a big political albotross. They are saying you have to accept us right? And the Democrats are saying ER... yeah... well I guess. As long as gay rights is a part of the Democrat platform, we are doomed to loose elections completely because of gay rights, and the idea that we are immoral, and the gays are doomed to be politicized out of their rights. They do not realize that they are being duped by a media that shows only the most bizzare and unsavory aspects of their lifestyle. They think that people accept them because they are in public media forced to pay lip service to their cause, but what they don't realize is that Mom and Pop at home, are terrified of this weird sideshow that they see on TV and so when they go to vote, they vote against them at any price. Even a totalitarian dictatorship, such as that run by George Bush beats the media created vision of a world in which Gays can marry, live next door to you, and have orgies in front of your leave it to beaver kids.
Most of the people who oppose drug abuse are ignorant of different individual drugs, and they lump it all together, just as the media taught them to do. Crack and Cocaine are very addictive drugs, which can cause pshchosis. I know that not from media, but from experience with users. The same can be said of Alcohol, but it is completely legal. The same can be said of the pharmacuticals that everyone takes for their "nerves" and their "depression" and their "hyperactivity," or even their "impotence."
In my opinion drugs should be a choice, and the actions of those people should be judged appart from the substances. Drugs, including alcohol, should neither be an excuse for unacceptable behavor or poor judgment, nor should it be assumed that just because someone is driving and has had a beer or smoked a join, that they are less competent than the next guy. If someone has a wreck, fault should be determined without consideration of substances.
MY opinion of this was formed by one of those mad mothers, who was ON TV bawling because her pre-schooler was run over by a drunk driver, at three A.M. on a dark country road. I think it was also foggy and stormy that night. OK so the guy had been drinking, but what in the heck was her kid doing in the middle of the road at three A.M. It is her fault, as much as the drivers. He couldn't have seen the child at night, yet he is doing time and she is a self righteous nutcase.
I really feel that using substances to explain misconduct is a cop out. Like these crazy people who kill if they don't take their medication. Nah, they kill cause they are crazy, violent and mean. Anyone who thinks they have invented a drug to prevent or cause meanness is deluded. People are what they are, with or without drugs. Sure most drugs can affect behavior, so just slap a warning lable on all of it, and legalize it.
The prisons are so full of drug abusers there is no room for real criminals. It costs the state, and it puts people on the street that should be locked away. Mass murderers and pedophiles, should really be executed anyway, but society is too wussy to do that, so they should at least be kept out of the general population for the rest of their natural lives.
