Not sure about the smell, but I'm pretty sure you have to grind up the pot because if you just injest bud it goes right through your digestive system because it doesnt break up the pot and absorb the thc, thats why you need to make cannabutter. I've never cooked with pot but just wanted to say dont just throw bud in brownies.

I've only cooked with pot once. My friend and I made a bunch of cannabutter, and then used it for brownies. It did stink up the house quite a bit for a few hours.

Yeah, it smells. Im sure you know how to make cannabutter, but incase you dont, heres a foolproof way...

    1. Get some butter (amount depends on how much bud you have). Just use however much you think youll need.
    2. Place butter in NON STICK pan. Wait until its simmering.
    3. Add FINELY CHOPPED Herb to butter. Simmer for 30 mins, stirring almost constantly. This lets you get nearly all, if not all, the THC out of the Herb by simmering for 30 mins.
    4. Drain and use for cooking! If you have no cheesecloth and want to strain the bits of Herb, use a pair of tights (not used ones - thats just rank).

Remember that when you cook your brownies, make sure that the heat isnt too high - use gas mark 5 - otherwise the THC will evaporate.

I think he meant that on a gas stove, you would set the stove on setting 5.....medium. Same would be true on electric, medium setting so the oven's not too hot.

Aaahhh, I take it your a Yankee. Gas mark 5 is what we use in the UK for determining how high to set the oven when cooking stuff. Just to give you an idea, they go up to gas mark 9, and the lowest setting is 1 (dont know anything that cooks on that!). Beef on Sundays goes on gas mark 4/5, chicken (in a pack, the readymeal ones, like chicken Kievs and the like) go on around gas mark 6, and pizzas on gas mark 7. This should give you a rough idea of what temperature to cook at
