They shut down the study funded by the National Institute of Health because they found this, rather than negative aspects of Marijuana.

Anyways, I was told that information in 2000 by a rehabilitative counselor who claimed he was an "expert on Pot". So, the information was out there, you can't blame the Bush Administration.

I just found out about this myself and I have to say I was horrified. Apparently they have known that pot can cure cancer since 1974 and it has been covered up. The only reasoning I have heard is that it would interfere with their prohibition. It sounds so far out that I had to research it myself before I would believe our government would murder people that way.

I have sat here all day and yesterday trying to come up with any possible justification for it and I can't.There is no negative effect from cannabis use that does more damage than cancer. This is totally inexcusable.

Is this the message we are sending our children? That it is better to follow the law and die a horrible death rather than to try to end one of the worst diseases of all time? What kind of "message" is that?

Then I sat there and watched John Walter on TV actually say with a straight face that cannabis isn't medication. I wanted to be sick.

Something needs to be done about this.

well here's justa theory i thought of while i had laced weed and was just messed in the head for a while. well, there's always been STUPID stuff the gov. did in the whole history of the u.s. slavery, discrimination. but someone, lots of people have always stood up and SAID SOMETHING ABOUT IT. by the thousands, more. here's another example.

all us potheads are stiting here saying how STUPID the government is. but hey, why don't we ALL stand up and say something about it. let the rest of the u.s. know the TRUTH about pot. all of us can overpower a handful of fatbrains in the whitehouse. it's as possible as gaining 100 pounds in a year. maybe we dont' wanna do that, but it's POSSIBLE.

think of it like the gov. testing it's citizens by purpously doing stupid things to see if we'll stand up like the U.S. has always been known for.

We have a lady at work here who is always doing charity work for the American Cancer Society. I asked her about it and she says she's known for a long time. Apparently it is old news to the cancer research crowd (straights, non-smokers) and they have just had to throw their hands up for years. I felt so stupid when actually I'm fairly well informed. The government should not be able to cover up truths that they do not like. Didn't we give the Nazi's a hard time for burning books?

Exactly, TipTip. That is why I'm pushing people so hard to send even a $10-20 donation to SAFER and NORML this year as that is exactly what they are doing. Also, since they are pushing legalization in Nevada and Colorado this year people from those states need to stand up and go vote. If even one of these two states legalizes then it will be a massive kick in the balls to the prohibition crowd.

don't u get it?? if they cure cancer, that means that no more medicine... no more treatement.. the treatments mean money in their pockets, cus thats they're payroll.. they're paid to treat! how can they get paid to treat if theres nothing to treat???? that'll put organizations, companies, employers and employees out of business... and that will affect other businesses because corporate america is a network of capital co-existence.. each other company supports the other.. can we say Depression? lol

if its cured, that expans the human lifespan (of course) but that can also be dentrimental to the country, because soon symptoms of overpopulation will develope across the nation, and that can cause socio-economic problems.. they're basically looking to regulate that...

now for someone to read what i wrote, they'll probably think i'm on the opposing side (lol yea right).. yeah, its pretty fucked up-- the situation.. yeah, i'd love for it to be legalized, i did my reading on cancer and marijuana.. but ppl also have to look at the opposing side... why are they holding it back?? the more we look at the WHOLE CHESS BOARD and instead of our own sides, the faster we can reach a resolution..

Good call sheist. I also believe in looking at the whole picture. I also believe you could be right in it causing some disruption in our economy. That being said, so what?

I tried for a long time to justify withholding any research that could cure cancer and I can't think of even one. It's a disgrace and someone needs to be in prison over this one. How can you justify letting people die more horribly than the Japanese in Hiroshima from radiation poisoning? How can you justify a ten year old child emaciated and wasting away before your eyes, crying from the pain and fear if there is even a chance of saving them? Would you like to explain the governments viewpoint to that childs family? Parents? Millions of people like our family and friends, people we love and couldn't imagine a world without them in it, dead for corporate America's greed or the perfidity of our elected officials.

You know, fuck our government if this is the way they want to treat us. Fuck our economy if the only way it can be supported is from human misery. Fuck the doctors who know this to be the truth and hide, violating their sworn oath.

God let's us know in our hearts what is right and what is wrong and I have an obligation to fight now that I know the truth. It is only the right thing to do.
