Halogen growing? =)

ok look, i got this 500w halogen lamp, it's abought 11.000 lumens and 3500k. i grew 8 plants under it in soil, tallest one was 1.56 cm and i got almost 40 gr of dried buds from each plant. this is like the 3rd best smoke i've tasted in my life!

the whole thing took 3 1/2 months, 35 days at 24 light and rest in 12/12.

so why.. just why are you people telling me halogen doesnt work when it does?? the colour might not be perfect and lots of lights got higher lumens per watt. im not gona lie.. heat is a big problem with halogen and it uses alot of power. my space was well vented and i always pay the same amount for electr. each month so i dont care how much it uses. it doesnt kill your plants unless you fry them do death by placing the light too close.

Woooah, i never, never though it would work. That plant is loooking very healthy. Well, its something i will have to remember. I think i'll stick with my HID and HPS for now though

im always tryin to tell people that halogens DO work. They're not great for vegetative growth (your plant would look greener and fuller with MH), but it still works.

Halogens give intense light in the RED region which is really good for flowering. The reason people don't generally use them is because they give off ALOT of heat.

Next i'm gona use 4x 160w, self ballast Mercury tungsten blended lamp to grow 10x plants.. just beacause people say MV doesnt really do the job =)


i still got the 430W HPS but im not growing for a living or smoking. i just grow because i love it. everything abought it, fuckin with the lights is one of that.

halogen do well in flowering , i have a freind who done a ghetto grow with flurecent tubing for veg and 4x 500watt halogen for flowering he grew 10 nebula seeds and hic yeid was exellent , the only prob with halogen is heat but if you have the space with enough ventilation they do ok but the are not as good as hps , no where near it but if financies are low and you have the space they do the job, cause we are talking £5 to£10 for a 500 watt and thats pennies to grow a good smoke
