    Walmart cfl "reading light"

Recently picked up a rather big compact fluorescent at Walmart for about $8. It looks like a smaller version of cfl grow lights, and is called the Reading Light. I threw away the package, but I think that the lumen output is something over 2000. But the thing that separates this light from most other readily available cfls is that it appears to be about 2700k, so a nice reddish light output. I'm gonna pick up a few more today. Ballast is built in and it fits a regular lightbulb socket.

great! i have trouble finding the 2700k cfls. although aquarium stores sell cfl strips in 2700k, 6700k and 10000k if you have at least 24" of space . the brand i like is coralife.

i am using a 2700k 65watt coralife strip in one of my stealth cabs along with a vitelume 125watt 2 45watt 6700k and 2 45watt 2700k cfls . harvest averages a qp and the buds are very dense for cfl flowering. the coralife ones are easy to rewire and make the ballast remote. i'll post pics of my light set-up this evening if you are interested?

i was thinkin of gettin 2 cfl strips.. and grabbin 2 bulbs, (1) 420nm 40w and (1) 450nm 40w.. as well. i'd be using a couple of cfls to just manage the grow.. I'm using those strips specficically to see how the spectrum affects the plants..

since i'll be growing (1) plant in a bin, i'd say its safe to keep the 80w.. it should definitely have a substantial impact on the grow.. i'm gonna try on and off days, see how the grow continues on certain lighting (for example i'll try a few days with just the aqua lights..

i'm also lookin into actinic lights.. check those out too..

I bought some of those (reading light) but never had a chance to use them. I believe those are 42W? Not bad for an $8 CFL.
