My grandmother and mother used to make bread like this all the time. It just involves keeping a jar of "starter" refrigerated. You don't actually have to pass it around each time, it's just the novelty of it some people like.

I want to know why people give out their email addresses, but don't write them in full, all you're doing is making more work for the people that want it and have to decipher your code... anyone want to give me a reason why some people are doing this?!

Because there are programs written to crawl the web and record email addresses. If it's obfuscated there is little to no chance it will be picked up and then sold to spammers. Ever wonder why you get a new email address and within a week are receiving 200 spams a day? This is why.
