    cotyledons going yellow?

Ok sharp if he is worried about the cotyledons then its is probably a seedling. If it is the tips its probably overfertilization. Seedlings use very little water. I'' feed it a light fertilizer weekly and water the other times about 2-4 times a day. I mix organic fertlizers in the soil and that carries them for months. Leave them alone. Water them makes sure they are ok and leave them alone. They will grow and be fine.

thats from overfertilization and they will die and not grow. Make sure it gets plenty sun and water so it can flush and start to work on new sets of leaves. If it doesn't perk up it maybe dead and theres nothing you can do. You have all year to try. Just clean water will do the trick. Don't flood it just saturate.

yeah, it is normal for them to yellow and die off but not so early. they usually last at least until 2nd or 3rd node has formed...and hopefully you haven't added ferts already. seedlings won't need ferts for the first couple weeks with quality, fresh potting soil and burn easily if over ferted...overwatered is bad too and also a very common mistake for new gardeners.

They die when the top gets big enough to eclipse them from the sun.
