Finding people's Ip addresses from forums?

Hey guys,

just wondering if it is possible to get someone's ip address from the posts they make on forums??
Is it just mods/admin that can have access to that info?
I am actually pretty desperate to find out....

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated even if its just links or somthing.

really.....that sucks (and is good in a way)....well i got in touch with the admin and he's checking that shit out for me.

You probly wont think its the best reason to be desperate, but im just looking out for my mates.....here is the REALLY basic reason

We live in a shitty small island (90,000 people 42sq mile island)...my very good mates are in a band....there is an"other" band (whom i also know very well)...and some shit is starting between them.....threats and shit.....none of the "other" band have registered on the web site......so basically i just wanted to find out how many IP address are actually being used.....so I have a rough idea of how many people "actually" want to kick the shit out of my mates.....lol.....sounds lame....but i think its just 2 or 3 of them not about 20.....

And also it would be interesting to know....just for personal knowledge....security and shit

if they are stupid just tell them to go to showmyip.com and then tell them to tell you the number. say its like the number for free ice cream or something
