Ive had those bastards in my bed before. It sucks a bunch, I had to wash every blanket and sheet on my bed. At first my whole back was itching then my whole body, and since I kept scratching I had lumps everywhere! Now I change my sheets more often..

Who cares? I learned a term in science: mutualism. It's where both organisms benefit. They keep my couch free of skin and they get a free meal.

Keeping a clean house is a good thing....but even when the house is kept spotless, rugs vacuumed, etc. and you still have the critters, check with your organic gardening center and buy a bag of ladybugs. They EAT mites, aphids, and such, without doing harm to anything else. When their food source(mites and aphids) is gone, they go away.

Its an organic solution that will work well in the garden also :thumbsup:

I'm terrified of spiders, but even being covered in spiders wouldn't creep me out if I knew they were microscopic.

I think mites are arachnids, so you ARE covered with millions of tiny spiders! I feel itchy just thinking about it!

When I was in college, I had a friend who worked at a convalescent hospital. We were getting really high at his place when he mentioned they had an outbreak of scabies at the hospital. I had never heard of scabies, so I asked him what they were.

"Scabies are a kind of bug or mite that people sometimes get when they live in crowded conditions, like hospitals." The guy was sort of absent-minded and not very self-aware, especially when he was high, so sometimes he would do stuff that was sort of weird without even knowing it. So as he was explaining about the scabies, he started scratching one arm.

"Scabies live under the skin, not on the surface," he started scratching both arms at the same time.

"Scabies are tiny, so you don't see the bug. All you see is the trails they make as they burrow through your skin," now he was scratching both shoulders at he same time.

"Scabies aren't really dangersous, but some people are allergic to the scabie poop under their skin," and now he was in a contorted position trying to scratch his own back.

"It's a pain to get rid of because the scabies get onto the clothes of the hospital workers and then they get transferred to the different patients all around the hoispital," by now he was scratching himself all over with both hands --- his head, his back, his chest, his arms. The whole time I was watching him scratch like crazy while telling me about these freaky scabies, I was thinking, Shit! This dude HAS scabies! Get me the fuck out of here!
