True, but this is a bit different. The Chiang Jiang (or Yangzi) river actually floods nearly every year killing hundreds and causing havoc for all those millions living near it that will be displaced. Plus the hydro power supplied by the dam will provide clean energy for millions of people. So, although environmentalists and China haters want to use this as an example to bash China, the damn will actually benefit far more people than it will hurt.

The people being displaced by the Olympic preperations, however, is a different story all together. This is just an attempt by the Chinese government to build a fantasy China to show the rest of the world. Pity, I find the real China far more interesting.
