Pot Cave

Talk about using your talents for evil:
Investigators described a marijuana-growing operation discovered inside a cave in Trousdale County as something out of a James Bond movie.
â??Itâ??s pretty amazing what they had under there - water for irrigation, special lighting, devices to keep the humidity just right. These guys were professionals. They knew what they were doing,â?? said District Attorney General Tommy Thompson of Hartsville.
Just think of the great vegetables they could have grown using this system. Abuse like this gives hydroponics a bad name.
We had a similar crime take place here in Dickenson County several years ago. A few folks had a marijuana operation going in an abandoned coal mine on Red Onion. They might have got by a little longer if the power company had not noticed they were stealing electricity from a pole.

Even tho i am not a drug user. I think the money spent busting theease farmers could be better used tracking down muslims for justice.

First, I am not sure we should call them â??farmers.â?
Second, regardless of your personal use, you should want to rid your community, state, and country of illegal drugs. I know I do.

True Brian, but at the end of the day, marijuana enforcement is flawed, and has failed in America.
Significant revenues from illegal marijuana production keep many farmers from going bankrupt in this country. Meanwhile, our government spends upwards of $20 billion a year enforcing marijuana production, failing to reduce usage from the upwards of three million regular users. Most of that money is spent on arresting and convicting people for possesion of marijuana, rather than sales - Well over 80% in 2003. Furthermore, the DEA thinks it is prudent to arrest medical marijuana users, rather than focus money on hardened criminals.
I hate to say it, but marijuana should be decriminalized in the near-term, and legalized in the long-term. This, combined with strong educational resources, and tough regulations, will enable cops to more effectively go after Crystal Meth and other hard drugs.
